Fall is finally here. After a thunderstorm came through last night, we were blessed with much cooler weather. This morning was 60 degrees, with the high for the day only in the mid 60’s (yeah, time to break out the sweatshirts). The inside of the house was really wet, since the roof is not yet completed. Outside was really muddy, which made it really messy and slippery. We were thankful that Richard put down some boards to make a couple of walkways so we could mostly stay out of the mud.
It was great to see that the electrician and plumber both started their rough-ins this weekend. In addition, some of our team came in this weekend to install the remaining windows.
After another inspirational devotion and prayer from a local pastor, we went right back to work blocking the roof trusses. We had a few more 2×6 boards to install on the end trusses.
We then moved to blocking the peaks of the center trusses with 2×4’s. This part is a challenge because ladders won’t reach – Joe had to become a truss money and crawl through the trusses to get to the peak.
There was a ton of activity going on at the house today. Some team members were installing an insulation dam along the front of the house to stop the spray in attic insulation from going into the porch area.
Installing a ventilation channel to allow airflow to the attic …
Installing ceiling sheet rock nailers to give the installers something to attach to…
Installing two sets of blocking on all exterior walls at the OSB seams to assure that the vinyl siding has a solid backing…
Installing blocking on the kitchen walls to support cabinet installation based on the kitchen layout plans…
installing the sewer line by contractors …
and other contractors installing the front and back cement patios …
Overall, it was a very productive day. We thank God for the cooler weather. God is good.
You are moving in ways you probably don’t move much in Celebration. I’ll bet you guys are/were sore. It’s very impressive!
Another day of progress! The cooler weather sounds delightful…trade off for muddy ground. Cooler weather wins every time!!

Oh yuck what a challenge slogging through all that mud. Hopefully soon you’ll have cool and dry weather. I love the solution to those vinyl siding nails that hit the OSB seams. Blocking is A lot of work but beats having to pull off a wall of siding to fix. As care-a-vanners you guys rock!
