OK, I know about I complained about the heat .. but, 46 this morning? Brrr … it called for three layers of jackets this morning. But, by afternoon it was really beautiful in the mid-70’s.
Our overall goal today was to get the smaller inside projects done and the area cleaned, so we can get it ready for a drywall company to install. In previous years, our team installed the drywall which is a long and heavy job. Having a company come in to do this job will be a real time (and back) saver!
Joe and I worked on installing the vent ducting in all three bathrooms. Two of the bathrooms on one side of the house used the same exterior vent. To improve airflow, we used rigid ducting for the long runs with small flexible pieces into bathroom fans. For the third bathroom, Joe installed an exterior vent, and made a short run directly into the fan.

I was also working to clean up the inside of the house – removing things (ladders/tools/insulation/wood…) and sweeping/vacuuming the floors.
Other team members had other projects underway. The plumber removed some of the cabinet blocking to install some pipes in the kitchen and bathroom area. Marc and Tom had to get creative to figure out how to re-install the blocking in a way that accommodated the new plumbing runs.
Gene was busy installing the flooring and floor molding in the furnace room. We finish this room first so that they can set the furnace and get it connected. The floor looks great!
Bill and Jo were working on the porch fascia. Last week, we installed a flexible metal tape along the bottom of the porch beam. Unfortunately, the tape did not sit flat and did not really look good. Over the weekend, they decided that it really needed to be replaced and bought some rigid plastic material to use as a replacement.
Once that was in, they installed side fascia on both sides of the porch. It looks soooo much better! It goes to show the pride that everyone has in building a home to the very best of our ability.
The plumber was there today, but still has more work to do. We are getting closer to having our portion of the inside work done, so that when the plumber and electricians are ready, we can get the drywall installed.
