We enjoyed a relaxing weekend. Sleeping late was so nice! When we’re out around town, it’s interesting to see so many Amish people and buggies. It encouraged us to watch a documentary about the Amish to learn more about their beliefs
We were blessed with another beautiful workday, with temperatures starting in the mid-60’s and getting up into the low 80s by afternoon. After our inspirational devotional and prayer from a local pastor we got right back into sheet rocking. Richard, one of our Care-A-Vanners left at 5AM this morning to pick up the sheet rock by 6, so that he could have it back at the job site before 8AM. Before we could unload the 13 pieces of sheet rock, we had to install the few remaining pieces so we could clear out some wall space. Joe’s first job was to trim the foam insulation from around the door.
Since he was on the ‘heavy lifting team’, I started to cut pieces of sheet rock to line the inside of the windows. We had to install them with a spacer for the windowsill (that will be installed after everything is painted).
After my first window, Joe was able to join the fun. We were able to get all the windows done right after lunch.
Once that job was done, Joe jumped in to help with mounting the other large pieces of sheet rock along with roto-zipping openings as needed.
There are only a few pieces of sheet rock left to be installed, which should not take long in the morning. Overall, it was another productive and safe day. God is good!
Running towards finish line .
Love the buggies and I watched many documentaries about Amish believes and life style . Such strong faith and devotion for family and community. Tough life but a fulfilling one .
Your volunteer work and coming together to help one in need is the core of their beliefs and conduct as well .
God bless and be safe .
Blessings to you and Joe! With each nail on the walls means you are closer to the finish line!
It’s amazing to see how much you and the small team have accomplished so far. Thanks for sharing.
